Leading wireless fire systems brand Hyfire has announced a series of updates to its pioneering Taurus range of wireless detectors. Set to enter production in the second week of January, these enhancement are emblematic of the company’s commitment to continuous product improvement.
With increased focus on false alarm avoidance, the updates are a response to the delicate balance required between sensitive smoke detection and the prevention of false alarms due to non-hazardous intrusions. A newly refined insect screen has been introduced to combat the ingress of dust and insects into the optical chamber, a common issue in smoke detection technology.
Additionally, Hyfire has integrated a new Emitter LED, designed to produce a more focused beam, thereby increasing the detector’s effectiveness and reliability. This improvement not only maintains the detectors’ sensitivity to smoke but also significantly reduces susceptibility to spurious elements.
Dave Henderson, Project Manager at Hyfire, said: “These enhancements are testament to Hyfire’s dedication to innovation and excellence. By continually refining our products, we aim to provide the most reliable and effective fire detection solutions on the market.”
The enhancements have undergone extensive testing and to comply with EN54 standards. Improved products include the TAU-MC-01 Multi-sensor Detector, TAU-OP-01 Optical Detector, and TAU-TH-01 Heat Detector.
Developed in Trieste, Italy, the global centre for wireless fire design, Taurus features Pathfinder Technology, which allows the devices to communicate over 1km, point to point in open air, and further where expansion hops are used. Antenna technology has been optimised to allow communication across different frequencies and environments, which means that Taurus can do the job with less equipment and less batteries, thus saving on costs.
Hyfire was launched in 2007, bringing to market some of the first commercial wireless detection and alarm devices fully certified to EN54. Since then, the Hyfire brand has become synonymous with quality, reliability and innovation in the commercial fire sector. Hyfire devices come with a five-year warranty, backed up by a dedicated partner programme to ensure the best survey, installation, commissioning, after sales service and exceptional technical support.
