Hyfire Rings the Changes to Drive Wireless Growth

Hyfire has unveiled a raft of changes to its UK team as it seeks to build on unprecedented growth in the wireless sector due to evolving fire regulations, increased demand on installers and the ongoing repercussions of the Covid pandemic.

Starting at the top, UK Business Unit Director Tom Crane has been appointed Hyfire International Director, with a brief to boost the company’s international presence and further develop its system offering. UK Technical Manager Robert Read will adopt a new role as Head of Innovation for both Hyfire and Argus, its Italian sister company within Halma plc, while Darren Walker becomes UK Technical Support Manager.

“These changes represent a new direction for the Hyfire brand, which has expanded rapidly over the past two years, especially since the launch of our world-beating Taurus range in 2021,” said Giorgio Koursaris, General Manager for both the Hyfire and Argus brands. “We already had the right people, and now they are in optimised roles to help drive further growth in 2022 and beyond.”

In the UK sales teams, existing regional sales managers Robert Bruce and Ollie Murray have been promoted to National Sales Manager North and National Sales Manager South, with a brief to develop and support Hyfire’s growth strategy across the UK. They will support the existing regional sales network, while also overseeing expanded business development and pre-sales engineer teams, which will be recruited over the coming months.

Hyfire offers the widest range of commercial standard wireless fire devices on the market, ranging from optical, multi-criteria and heat detectors to notification, arlarm, interface and control units, all fully certified to EN54. All products offer the highest performance and quality in the industry, and are also fully compliant with BS5839 Part 1. The company has also recently introduced EvacWireless, a rapid and scalable solution to meeting the BS8629 evacuation alert standards in residential buildings over 18 metres.

Tom Crane commented: “Wireless is now more relevant than ever due to the savings it can make in both time and installation costs, especially in a residential environment where installers and end clients require rapid fulfilment with minimal upheaval. With this revamped team, we are ideally positioned to work for future growth in the business.”

Having started out as a niche technology aimed at large industrial buildings and heritage sites, wireless is rapidly becoming the first choice for UK installers. With up to 90% less cabling required, and install times reduced by 75% or more, it is an ideal choice for complex fire systems, especially in environments where contact with building users needs to be minimised, or where system renewals are required outside of the wider refurbishment schedule.

Hyfire was launched as Sterling Safety Systems in 2007, bringing to market some of the first commercial wireless detection and alarm devices fully certified to EN54. Since then, the Hyfire brand has become synonymous with quality, reliability and innovation in the commercial fire sector. Hyfire devices are available for Advanced or Kentec panels and come with a five-year warranty, backed up by a dedicated partner programme, to ensure the best survey, installation, commissioning, after sales service and exceptional technical support.
