Hyfire has further enhanced its recently restructured UK team with the appointment of industry veteran Dave Henderson as Product Manager.
Having started his career in product development at GEC Plessey Telecommunications, and later being part of the team that developed the UK’s first smart office light fitting for Thorn EMI, Newcastle native Dave, 57, is no stranger to innovation. He has been part of the fire industry for almost 20 years, latterly as part of the Safe Escape team with Apollo, which is also part of Halma plc.
“Wireless is clearly the future of fire systems, with more and more installers seeing it as the first choice technology, and I’m delighted to be playing part in developing the next generation of cutting edge wireless devices” said Dave, 57, whose combines his UK role with the same position at Argus, Hyfire’s sister company in the rest of Europe. “I’m relishing the opportunity to work with a small but ambitious company, in a role where I can contribute in lots of areas to grow the company and expand its horizons, with products and technology that help keep people safe.”
Hyfire offers the widest range of commercial standard wireless fire devices on the market, ranging from optical, multi-criteria and heat detectors to notification, interface and control units, all fully certified to EN54. All products offer the highest performance and quality in the industry, and are also fully compliant with BS5839 Part 1. The company has also recently introduced EvacWireless, a rapid and scalable solution to meeting the BS8629 evacuation alert standards in residential buildings over 18 metres.
Tom Crane, Hyfire International Director, commented: “In 2021, Hyfire transformed the wireless fire device marketplace with the launch of Taurus, a world-beating solution that is already installed in hundreds of sites. With the appointment of Dave, we are reaffirming our commitment to continuously pushing the boundaries of what wireless fire technology can achieve, and looking forward to the next step-change in delivery and capability.
“Dave is a well-known figure in the UK fire industry, both for his skills and his enthusiasm. He will be working with the Argus team to expand their knowledge, not only of what our product range can deliver, but also innovative ways in which it can be utilised to meet specific challenges and overcome unexpected issues. Most importantly, he will be introducing the Safe Escape concept to Argus and Hyfire, as well as creating a roadmap for international growth, which is a major opportunity as the market for wireless fire devices outside the UK is relatively underdeveloped.”
Away from work, Dave, who recently became a grandparent for the first time, is a big fan of 80s music and a keen hiking lover, alongside his two Labradors. He has also decided to learn Italian so that he can converse with his Argus colleagues in their mother tongue, although with some many technical terms to learn, it could get complicato.
Hyfire was launched as Sterling Safety Systems in 2007, bringing to market some of the first commercial wireless detection and alarm devices fully certified to EN54. Since then, the Hyfire brand has become synonymous with quality, reliability and innovation in the commercial fire sector. Hyfire devices are available for Advanced or Kentec panels and come with a five-year warranty, backed up by a dedicated partner programme, to ensure the best survey, installation, commissioning, after sales service and exceptional technical support.
