Simpler Systems, Smarter Safety: The Taurus Update

We’re excited to unveil the latest updates to the Taurus product line —new features designed to make installations quicker, processes simpler, and systems smarter. These innovations are all about reducing complexity, boosting efficiency, and freeing up your time to focus on what matters most. From streamlined installations to smarter diagnostics, every aspect of Taurus has been fine-tuned to offer unparalleled ease of use for both installers and maintenance teams.

What’s New?

Control Panels

  • Wireless signal strength at a glance: the signal strength is viewable directly with all  second generation MxPro5 panels for quick diagnostics. Address any issue remotely without needing field access to devices, ensuring quicker resolutions and minimal disruption.

TauREX Software

  • Remote device linking: a new remote wake-up feature lets you reassign a device to a different infrastructure device – translator or expander – without physical contact. No more ladders, no more walking, manage the process entirely through the TauREX software, reducing both effort and time.
  • This new feature can be activated via the software on products already installed with a date code of >25/10/2021 or later. Compatibility with existing translators and expanders begins with date codes >4/11/2020.

Taurus Expanders

  • Automated link setup: expanders now automatically enter Discovery Mode upon power-up. Once your system is surveyed and pre-programmed, no further adjustments are needed—saving you valuable time

Taurus Devices

  • Effortless initialisation: devices enter wake up mode on power up. Adding devices has never been this seamless!

Replacement Compatibility

All the new devices are backward compatible with the previous system. This means it is always possible to replace an earlier version of the Taurus infrastructure or field devices with their equivalent new counterparts.

Please note, however, that the new remote wake-up feature and the automated link setup are available only on the new units.

Why it matters

These updates focus on reducing steps, simplifying processes, and creating a smarter, more reliable system for both installation and maintenance teams.
