Hyfire has appointed Gemma Hand as Field Sales Manager (South East), responsible for overseeing the rapid growth of the business in the crucial South East of England region, which includes London.
Gemma, a native of North London, has been involved in the fire industry since 2017, working her way up to Associate Director of a major fire systems installer. She recently passed her FIA Unit 1 & 2 Fire Detection & Alarm (FD&A) qualifications, and was looking for her next challenge when the opportunity at Hyfire came along.
“I’ve known of Hyfire for a number of years, during which time the wireless fire sector has grown exponentially from a niche technology to the first choice of many installers,” said Gemma, 32. “My primary role will be to build on existing client partnerships and establish new ones. I want to exceed the high levels of service I’ve received from Hyfire over the last five years as a customer myself, as well as helping to spread the word on the key advantages of wireless fire devices.”
Hyfire offers the widest range of commercial standard wireless fire devices on the market, ranging from optical, multi-criteria and heat detectors to notification, interface and control units, all fully certified to EN54. All products offer the highest performance and quality in the industry, and are also fully compliant with BS5839 Part 1. The company has also recently introduced EvacWireless, a rapid and scalable solution to meeting the BS8629 evacuation alert standards in residential buildings over 18 metres.
Tom Crane, Hyfire International Director, commented: “Gemma’s appointment is the final building block in a major restructure of the Hyfire business, which aims to give us the expertise and flexibility we need to prosper in the post-Covid era. We have known of her for many years, when she has been one of our most loyal customers and biggest advocates, so it’s great to have her onboard.
“With our world-beating Taurus range of wireless fire devices to showcase, combined with her personal dedication and genuine enthusiasm for the role, I’m sure that Gemma can hit the ground running and generate results. Showing our installer partners how they can use wireless within their projects is a key growth area for us, building on almost two decades of wireless innovation, and we now have the right team in place to make the happen.”
Since leaving school, Gemma, who now lives in Hertfordshire, has worked in a variety of roles, always bringing hard work and a positive attitude to the table. Outside of work, her passions include fitness classes, photography and spending time with her five (and soon to be six) nieces and nephews.
Hyfire was launched as Sterling Safety Systems in 2007, bringing to market some of the first commercial wireless detection and alarm devices fully certified to EN54. Since then, the Hyfire brand has become synonymous with quality, reliability and innovation in the commercial fire sector. Hyfire devices are available for Advanced or Kentec panels and come with a five-year warranty, backed up by a dedicated partner programme, to ensure the best survey, installation, commissioning, after sales service and exceptional technical support.
