Global wireless fire detection and alarms leader Hyfire has appointed Mark Piert as Regional Sales Manager for UK Central, covering The Midlands and surrounding areas, where he will oversee the management of existing partners and the development of new client relationships for the business, which has recently launched the industry-leading Taurus range of wireless fire devices.
With 27 years in the fire and security industry, starting out as an apprentice engineer in 1994, Mark is well placed to hit the ground running in his new role. He worked his way up through the industry working with multi-national installers, before moving into sales in 2014. Following a successful period selling systems, Mark moved into the product side of the industry and joined Honeywell in 2017 as the Business Manager for Morley IAS, covering Northern England and Scotland for nearly three years, before becoming a Business Manager for Gent, responsible for the North West region.
“I’ve been aware of wireless fire devices for a number of years, and with the launch of Taurus it feels like the technology has finally made the move into the industry mainstream, so I’m very excited to be playing a part in the next chapter for Hyfire,” said Mark. “Many installers now see wireless as their first choice, but there are plenty of others who have yet to recognise the many benefits it can offer. This is both a challenge and an opportunity for myself and the rest of the Hyfire sales team.
“Taurus wireless devices can be programmed offsite and installed in minutes, with no need for cabling or making good, which makes them ideal for the expanded and updated systems many building owners are currently looking to install, especially in the residential and high-rise sectors. Reducing time onsite is also a key advantage in the post-Covid world.”
Hyfire offers the widest range of commercial standard wireless fire devices on the market, ranging from optical, multi-criteria and heat detectors to notification, arlarm, interface and control units, all fully certified to EN54. All products offer the highest performance and quality in the industry, and are also fully compliant with BS5839 Part 1. The company has also recently introduced EvacWireless, a rapid and scalable solution to meeting the BS8629 evacuation alert standards in residential buildings over 18 metres.
Tom Crane, Hyfire Business Unit Director for the UK and Ireland, commented: “With the launch of Taurus earlier in 2021, we now have big ambitions to grow the Hyfire brand in the UK, and we know that we have the best product range in the industry. That’s why we need established professionals like Mark, who have fully embraced the wireless revolution, to introduce our products to new and existing clients.”
Outside the office, Mark is a keen sports fan, retired amateur footballer and Liverpool FC fanatic, although these days you are more likely to find him watching his 16-year-old son play rugby than screaming from The Kop.
Hyfire was launched as Sterling Safety Systems in 2007, bringing to market some of the first commercial wireless detection and alarm devices fully certified to EN54. Since then, the Hyfire brand has become synonymous with quality, reliability and innovation in the commercial fire sector. Hyfire devices come with a five-year warranty, backed up by a dedicated partner programme, to ensure the best survey, installation, commissioning, after sales service and exceptional technical support.
