Global wireless fire detection and alarm devices leader, Hyfire has appointed Ollie Murray as Regional Sales Manager for South East England, where he will oversee the management of existing partners and the development of new client relationships in a key year for the business, which is part of Halma plc.
Having worked in the fire sector since leaving college, Ollie is already familiar with the Hyfire brand and the multiple benefits offered by wireless fire devices. In his new role, he will be looking to promote the convenience and adaptability of wireless as an alternative to traditional cabled systems, especially in the age of COVID-19, when time on site and contact with building users need to be minimised.
“In my seven years in the sector, I’ve seen wireless devices grow from a niche, aimed primarily at heritage and industrial buildings, into the default choice for many installers and end clients,” said Ollie, 25, who lives in Portsmouth. “When the opportunity to join Hyfire came along, I jumped at the chance to leverage my industry knowledge and experience for the development of this growing brand, especially as there are big plans for a new generation of wireless fire devices in the very near future.
“Wireless devices can be programmed offsite and installed in minutes, with no need for cabling or making good, which makes them ideal for the expanded and updated systems many building owners are currently looking to install, especially in the residential and high-rise sectors.”
Hyfire offers the widest range of commercial standard wireless fire devices on the market, ranging from optical, multi-criteria and heat detectors to notification, arlarm, interface and control units, all fully certified to EN54. All products offer the highest performance and quality in the industry, and are also fully compliant with BS5839 Part 1. The company has also recently introduced EvacWireless, a rapid and scalable solution to meeting the BS8629 evacuation alert standards in residential buildings over 18 metres.
Tom Crane, Hyfire Business Unit Director for the UK and Ireland, commented: “The South East region is crucial for Hyfire and we need the right person to build on our established partnerships in the area, while also seeking out new opportunities. Ollie demonstrated a combination of enthusiasm for wireless and knowledge of the fire industry, and we’re all very excited to have him on board in this crucial year for Hyfire, as we prepare to unveil a brand new range of devices that represent a game-changing advance for the wireless fire sector.”
Outside of the office, Ollie is a fitness fanatic who can usually be found in the gym, running, cycling, playing golf or walking the dog. He has also recently purchased his first home with his childhood sweetheart, which means he is more likely to be seen with a paint brush than a golf club in his hand, at least for the next few months.
Hyfire was launched as Sterling Safety Systems in 2002, bringing to market some of the first commercial wireless detection and alarm devices fully certified to EN54. Since then, the Hyfire brand has become synonymous with quality, reliability and innovation in the commercial fire sector. Hyfire devices are available for Advanced or Kentec panels and come with a five-year warranty, backed up by a dedicated partner programme, to ensure the best survey, installation, commissioning, after sales service and exceptional technical support.
